Maimuna (Mai) Zubairu-Burnette is an international management consultant with over 11 years of experience working with Fortune 500 companies, the United States Government, and small-mid size businesses. She specializes in strategic planning, organizational analysis & design, organizational transformation and performance management.
Mai immigrated to the U.S. at age 9 from Sierra Leone, West Africa. She has lived in the Washington, DC metropolitan area for most of her life. Mai obtained an undergrad degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology, and an M.B.A in Management from Frostburg State University. She is also a practicing Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Black Belt.
Mai is passionate about connecting with other women who strive to make a positive impact in their communities, and empower others to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Mai is very active in both the African American and African communities, where she provides mentorship, advice and resources to others. She enjoys spending time with her 11 year old daughter Aziza, traveling, cooking, and learning. She is also a serial entrepreneur.
